When conceptualising the packaging for this perfume set, our team wanted to tell a story about "a world hidden within." Perfume itself is an intangible vessel for emotion, and we wanted its packaging to become a tactile journey of natural exploration—a gentle transition from the urban cityscape to the wild outdoors.
When you first lay eyes on the outer box, it presents itself as a bespoke paper box with clean lines and a warm, inviting touch. The soft earth tones, paired with silver foil lines that resemble topographic maps or the gentle ripples of water, are our subtle foreshadowing. It's a quiet hint that beneath this sharp, geometric exterior lies a vivid, living landscape.
The true surprise, however, happens the moment you lift the lid.
Usually, high-end perfume boxes are lined with either cold EVA foam or glossy satin meant to manufacture a traditional sense of luxury. But this time, we made a very bold and pure decision: to craft the inner insert entirely out of 100% biodegradable moulded pulp.
If you look closely at this perfume box, you’ll notice that this insert is far from a simple "groove" meant to hold a bottle in place. We sculpted it into a "micro-landscape." We deliberately preserved the rough, raw, fibrous texture of the pulp, shaping the surrounding edges into undulating patterns like wind-swept sand dunes or a serene Zen rock garden.
When that crystal-clear, light-refracting glass perfume bottle rests quietly within this moulded pulp tray, full of raw, organic tension, it creates an incredibly captivating visual contrast: absolute refinement against absolute ruggedness; the clarity of modern industry against the profound weight of ancient nature. It ceases to be merely a commercial product. Instead, it feels like a piece of precious amber, carefully swaddled in soft earth and time, freshly unearthed from the depths of the ground.
This pulp insert, carrying a natural sense of tranquillity, is pressed entirely from pure plant fibres. This means that once it has flawlessly fulfilled its mission of protecting and displaying the perfume, it can return to the soil without any burden. It will biodegrade completely, leaving not a single trace on the earth.
We hope that when you open this exquisite paper box, letting your fingertips trace the coarse, breathing texture of the pulp before grasping the cool glass of the bottle, you are not just anticipating the fragrance. Rather, it feels like pushing open a hidden door, briefly stepping away from the noise of the world, and walking barefoot into a tranquil valley.
